12volt timer & socket

 

    I use this 12volt programmable digital timer with cigarette lighter plug & socket to periodically turn on/off my Waeco 12volt, 55litre fridge which is located in the rear of my vehicle. The purpose of the timer is to conserve my dual battery capacity when the vehicle is stopped while camping.

   ◊  ABB poly box approx. dimensions 110x75x55 deep, around $8, purchase from any electrical wholesaler.

   ◊  8 amp cigarette lighter lead with bare ends from Jaycar at $9.95.

   ◊  cigarette lighter chassis socket from Jaycar at $5.35.

 

construction

    Carefully cut out the poly box to suit the digital timer's face and the cigarette plug. Glue the timer base to the removable cover with super glue or such. Refer to the timer's wiring diagram for your connections.
