WHERE.
Black Cockatoo Bush Camp is
just over the Victorian border
in the South East of South Australia, at Albert Park, 14km NE of
Naracoorte via Cadgee and Chapples Roads.

WHEN.
From Friday 2nd April to Monday 5th
April. You are welcome to arrive earlier and/or depart later if you wish.
GETTING
THERE.
Naracoorte is approx. 270km from Murray Bridge via the Dukes and Riddoch Hwys
and 310km from Ballarat via the Western and Wimmera Hwys.
CAMPSITES.
We will be camping on a large open area near a
waterhole (stocked with fish & yabbies) surrounded by shady gums.
MAKING
ARRANGEMENTS.
Not required, just add your name to poll
provided. Note: Specific sites/areas cannot be pre-booked.
COST.
$7.00 per person per night

POWER.
Some 240volt sites (solar
powered) should be available, exact cost yet unknown.
Generator power can also be
provided at a cost.
CAMPFIRES.
Only in designated fireplaces/pits. Dependent on fire restrictions.
FIREWOOD.
Please bring a small amount of firewood along. We
will have a large “mallee root” fire each night, a donation of $5.00 per site
for the weekend would be appreciated
WATER.
Water in camping area suitable for drinking.

TOILETS.
There are flushing toilets.
WASTE
DISPOSAL. There is a chemical
dump.
SHOWERS.
There are solar heated showers.
DOGS.
Dogs allowed but must be on a leash at
all times.
RUBBISH.
Rubbish trailer provided.
THINGS TO DO.
Drive the purpose built 4WD tracks and huge sandhill!
Fish for Perch and yabbies in the
waterhole.
Use the campground as a base to explore the wineries of Padthaway & Coonawarra
and the scenic Limestone Coast.
Naracoorte Caves are only a 15 min drive.
Experience bush walking, bird watching and enjoy the flora and fauna in 120ha of
virgin scrub.
There is a 1-2hour easy walking trail along a marked 3km loop walk.
Any other ideas to make the weekend a
memorable one are most welcome.
DAY VISITORS:
Please feel free to come along on a day visit & meet the faces behind the
typing.
You do not need a camper trailer to attend. Members without a camper are more
than welcome to come along & get a firsthand unbiased opinion of a particular
camper trailer from their owners.
Please keep in mind that the group
owners will not accept any responsibility for members & non-members actions
during the weekend get together.
If you decide to attend, it is solely
at your own responsibility, including any side trips or outings during the
weekend meet.
