camp canobolas
from
Saturday 12th to Sunday 13th November, 2016
A total of twenty-one camper trailers,
caravans, crossovers and tents arrived for the second Canobolas
Scout Camp Australian CamperTrailers Group Christmas get
together. Most arrived on Friday with those who still have work
commitments arriving on Saturday.
A few headed for the top of Mount Canobolas for a picnic tea and
watch the sun go down but a cool wind made it a short and
hurried stop, the sunset spoiled by a lot of bushfire smoke haze
but Rob and Carolyn still managed to get some great pictures.
After a huge thunderstorm swept through on Friday night, typical
Orange weather, many walked around Lake Canobolas and toured the
region checking out wineries and markets and finished the day
with a 3pm happy hour during which new members Mark, Tanya and
Stevie-Jane were welcomed followed by the now traditional
Christmas dinner.
Sunday was another day of site seeing and just chilling out, but
a threatening weather report for heavy rain overnight and into
next day saw many make a wise decision to pack up dry and head
for home and those that stayed can only attest to the fact the
weather man got it right.
A huge thank you to all who helped set up tables and decorations
and pitched in to help clean up after, and I must say that was
everyone who attended, you all helped make it a great night.
Hope to see you all next year.
