Friday 26th to Sunday 28th January 2018
Campers started arriving on Wednesday
for the Australia Day Camp at Canungra this year - seems we are stretching
the weekends a bit more each year! This annual camp is always popular with
both campers and their friends and family that pop in for a cuppa and a swim
in the waterhole, and this year was no exception. In all there were 20
"campertrailers" which included a few newbies - always great to see new
faces around the camp fire.
A quick whipper snip down the track to the waterhole by Lindsay and Greg on
Wednesday improved access for the hot weekend ahead. The general Den/grounds
cleanup on Saturday morning only took a couple of hours - thanks to previous
years' efforts, and everyone headed back to the waterhole to cool off
afterwards. Sincere thanks to all those who helped with the cleanup. It not
only improves the appearance of the Den and grounds, but makes it safer for
the Scouts and also fosters goodwill for the Campertrailers group. We are
already booked in to camp for the same time next year.
It was great to catch up with the group, hear what everyone had been up to
since the last camp, and find out plans for the coming year. Thank you to
all that came and made the long weekend such an enjoyable one.
