Kangaroo Valley

Post by Dexdoggy » Mon Nov 30, 2015 10:36 am

Just back from a weekend away at our fav spot - Kangaroo Valley!
Really is a wonderful place, we have never got tired of it, been camping here for over 30 years.
Nice weather (always a plus!), we always stay at Glenmack Park as we are old & lazy and like the great facilities there ;)
Not a long drive from home so a 1 or 2 night is done easily.

This was our 2nd trial of our Smith camper, really is shaping up to be an excellent set-up. Love the little features it has (these are probably pretty common but we are very much newbies!)
- Multiple 12v outlets
- 1m wide aluminium chequer plate step (in lieu of ladder), doubles as a shelf
- 2nd water outlet with quick connect coil hose (uses 12v pump)
- slide-out full width drawer at side
- external pole box on 1 side with flip-covers at each end so you can always reach the poles

That sounds like a good spot for few days mid-week.

We are looking at sites like that, not too far from Sydney...

Yes , Bendeela is also very good. I did hear a year ago the Water Board were going to start charging to camp there.
I hope they haven't

Yep Bendeela is really good too. We love Glenmack though, partly as we you are allowed to have our dog, and close walk to town, council pool etc. The "new" owners (I think they have been there for a few years now!) at Glenmack have put a huge amount of work into the place always upgrading, planting more trees, upgrading play areas for kids etc.
KV is pretty hard to beat, whether we want to do everything or nothing!
