DO 35 Hitches.

Post by GEOFF.PAULINE » Tue Dec 16, 2014 2:37 pm

I'm looking to buy the DO 35 Hitch.

I have looked at Vehicle Components listing them at $ 404.48

They do not appear to give us a Discount as when I clicked on them on our opening page price is the same.

Is this the best price available to any ones knowledge.

I have been on Google and found a lot of Info , but no actual companies selling them.

Thanks . Geoff.

Hi Geoff,

After using a Treg for nearly twenty years we bought a Vehicle Components DO35 nearly three years ago & absolutely love it. We have covered over 60,000 km towing with it & find it a pleasure to use hooking up compared trying to line the holes up in the poly black & hitch to insert the pin, although we didn't have much hassle doing that.

Vehicle Components offer members a 10% discount. Check the discount to members folder for details.

We recently did a Vehicle Components tour & will get a write up together soon.

Thanks again Rob.

I have contacted Vehicle Components , a lady named Kathy Whiting.

It appears I will have to re drill the camper as they do not match my current bolt pattern for the tregg , which is rectangular 118mm by 54 mm. DO 35 is 104 mm by 54 mm, not a big deal but surprised they don't have a model to suit standard Tregg bolt pattern.

What is the best way to order to let them apply the Discount for us.

Again , thank You.

Hi Geoff,

When ordering online just let them know you are a member of campertrailers.org to apply for the members discount. If you ring ask for Kerry in sales.

You will also find a DO35 bolt hole diagram on the VC website
http://www.vehiclecomponents.com.au/pro ... v%2012.pdf

I had to file out a couple of holes a little from the bolt pattern of the Treg overrider coupling.

Don't forget to use high tensile bolts. Nyloc nuts are a great advantage to lessen the chance of the nuts coming loose from road vibration. Make sure the bolt thread pokes out past the nylon insert in the nut.

I should correct my above entry. Totally messed up all measurements Tregg is 185 by 54mm , same as the DO 35. , so bolt pattern is the same

I must have been having a good morning !!!!

Hi Geoff,

Next time you measure something you might have to hold the dumb end of the tape.

Go for it they are worth every penny. I fitted one when I redid my drawbar. they had just come out then.
Much better than the predecessor the A35. they were a real pain to get the pin in as well.
Easy to hitch up just drop it in like a normal tow ball.

Happy Camping.
