Whats your lighting...?

Post by jw2170 » Fri Feb 27, 2015 10:50 pm

In the process of purchasing a GIC extreme Off Road camper.

I was told they had discontinued the lighter model.

We have many years of camping and Jayco Swan experience and should be able to find a stove and bits and pieces.

Getting a 120ah deep cycle battery installed for fridge and lights.

LED strips seem to be the go these days.

Can anyone let us know what they have in their CT for lighting.

Only needed for the odd 2-3 day trip up and down the NSW coast at the moment.

Both over 65, so in no hurry to go anywhere....LOL.

Jim..

PS how do I add a signature for this forum, I am used to forums that use vBulletin...Found It....

Hi Jim,

LED lights range from Ebay DIY flexible strips that you cut to size to suit

roll up ready to go

to complete plug & play kits which are hard backed with magnets

Greatest invention is the dimmer switch so you can turn the lights down to a glow after tea to find your way back to the camper from around the campfire.

There are several businesses offering members a discount on LED lighting. Check the discount to members section for details.

How can to add a signatures can be found in the forum help section http://www.campertrailers.org/group/vie ... p?f=3&t=29

Thanks Rob.

I will research the lights and keep my hand off the wallet until the Caravan Show in Sydney in April...

Hi Jim,

Can't recommend the Korr Lighting kits highly enough, they are awesome.

I bought the 4 light system, but have added one extra strip to it, lights up everything, I reckon they could see us from "outer space"

All the strips have dimmer controls, and you can make it up into any configuration you want.

I love ours, it is awesome.

Regards

We bought these, not from ebay though.

As for the camper you're buying, buy something else second hand ;)

Hi all,
Korr Lighting 4 light Kit
WOW you are spot on, brilliantly bright and with the carry case is a very neat setup, very easy to store!
Compared to lighting we have used over the years which you seem to always be replacing and replacing,
these feel like they will last and last (not going to try the hammer test just yet).
From order to Melb - 2 days, brilliant lights kit, brilliant service and a discount as well. :D :D

Safe travels

Purchased the Korr lighting 4 bar set at the caravan show.

They did not have the Platinum package but added all the components to make the 4 bar set up to the Platinum set.

Now, whats next on the list: gas stove... :P .

I purchased the 4 Bar Kit 0013696C for $150 when I picked up my Ranger Skamper Kamper. We use them on every camp trip. The dimmer switches are a great product on any light kit. :D

I brought 5M of strip led lighting from ebay for around $8...run it along the top of the inner wall of my trady trailer...kept it one piece n done both sides..it had self adhesive on it but say every 300mm I added some liquid nail...work a treat so far..if I wanna dim it I turn it off lol
