Has anyone camped at Brou Lake campground & would you recommend
& what is access like to lake for a kayak ?
One report I read says there are a lot of Ticks
What do people use to minimise the chance of Ticks ?, beside camping else where
Thanks in advance

G'day Peter & Carole
Yep camp there every few months, and it is indeed a tick hotspot along with much of the south coast areas.
I'm a little paranoid about ticks, wear long pants and sleeves, use repellent, wear shoes and socks, avoid walking through the bush and stay on the tracks etc, but almost always my mates and I end up with a tick or two even after one nights camping. In the last 4 or 5 years, has been by far the worst place for ticks that I've camped.
Nice place when it's not too crowded. Access to the lake is fine, can park very close by to unload a kayak for example.
Hope that helps...
Cheers
