Help. info needed for new purchase.

Post by bbq man » Tue Apr 07, 2015 9:12 pm

Hi everyone. New to the forum and in need of some expert advice.

Looking to purchase my first camper trailer and I have a few questions. I have been looking at a Prime camper trailer but the price seems too good to be true. Has anyone had or owns one of their trailers?

What I'm after is something that will serve my wife, 2 small kids and myself. Unfortunately we don't have a huge budget, but I'm really keen to get the kids out and about and see some of this wonderful country. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Hi bbq man,

There are so many camper trailers 'manufactures' on the market these days it is hard to keep up with it all. A few years ago there were some real dodgy imported camper trailers around, however the quality seems to have improved.

The websites of some imported camper trailers are worded to hide the fact the camper is manufactured overseas. There are a couple of articles to help you make an educated decision on the tech tips page under the buying a camper heading http://www.campertrailers.org/tech_tips.htm

Also if you intend to head off into the back roads make sure the chassis & suspension are up to the task http://www.campertrailers.org/off_road_trailer.htm

You cannot go past Australian manufactured canvas for quality & peace of mind in the wet.

Plenty of advice on the AMCTG website at http://www.australianmanufacturedcampertrailers.org.au/
happy camping
