How do you ensure the security of your camper trailer when you go into town / sightseeing for the day??

If we go for a drive away from camp, we take anything of value with us. We usually make camp look as if we are not that far away leaving items on the table, towels or tea towels hanging up, etc. In all the years we have been bush camping our camper & gear have never been interfered with while we have not been in camp. We only rarely stay in a caravan park.

If we are going for a short walk we secure the solar panel with a multi strand wire cable & lock anything of value in the car out of sight. Check the 'discount to members' section for Garrick Gallard's made to order security cables http://www.campertrailers.org/security_cables.htm

An overview of what is on the market to secure your camper can be found on the tech tips page http://www.campertrailers.org/securing_your_camper.htm

We recently bought the Keep It Klamp It wheel clamp for our trailer. We have large off road tyres so most wheel clamps were too small but this one fits and is a very visible deterrant.
