Outback Newell Camper Trailer

Post by Martybee » Sat Nov 28, 2015 10:08 am

Hi,
We are looking to purchase an Outback Newell (roughly 2005?).

Was wondering if anyone knew of one for sale?

We are ready to purchase, just having trouble finding one!

Cheers
Marty

Welcome to the forum Marty.

Just curious, any reason why you are particularly looking for a 10 year old camper?

Found a few for sale, but not that special vintage....

Hi Marty,

Best bet would be on our http://www.campertrailers.org/camper_trader.htm or perhaps http://www.caravancampingsales.com.au

I do not know how many Newell's were manufactured. Outback Camper Trailers in Carrum Downs Victoria was only of a handful of rear folding soft floor campers around a few years back as the rear folding hard floor was more popular. Also the name Outback was often confused with Outback Camper Trailers from Browns Plains Qld & Outback Campers from Wangara WA.

Cape York Campers in Cairns Qld manufactured the Adventurer model while Sundowner Camper Trailers in Mudgee NSW manufactured the Deluxe if you are looking for older rear folding soft floors.

Hi guys,

Hi jw2170..... Not necessarily must be 2005, was just thinking that age might fit budget, but as mentioned we are keen to purchase so would definitely look at all options! You mentioned you found a few for sale, are they still available?

Hi robcaz , will definitely check out both those sites, thank you! I have discovered some confusion with Outback from Queensland and WA... but yeh we were after the Carrum Downs version!!

Will keep hunting!

Cheers

What is your budget, as there are often camper trailers for sale on trading post and gumtree.....(Caveat Emptor...)

Hi jw2170

Budget is endless!!, hahaha just kidding!

Budget up to $10,000... Preferable $5,000!

But in all honesty happy to look at a camper and look at what is being asked for it and negotiate from there.

There doesnt seem to be a lot of the Newells around? We wont be needing an off road version of a camper, our camping is designated camping spots (caravan parks etc) and 99% of the time ... Powered site (not quite glamping...but not far off!!).

Really prefer the rear fold (male bladder!), and prefer the side kitchen set up.

We have two young children, 4 and 2... So haven't really considered the hard floor versions (thinking the hard floor area not quite big enough to set up kids? Any thoughts/experiences with this anyone?

The hunt continues....
