Hi Cassandra,

For the terrain mentioned a camper trailer based on a seven foot long by four or five foot wide box trailer is considered most suited over a wind up style camper trailer.

We love driving the back roads and 4wd tracks towing our Track Trailer Eagle with the Jeep Wrangler. It is based on a box trailer and is the same width and wheel track as the tow vehicle and with a short drawbar can easily handle tight turns, narrow tracks and steep trails with the large conservation humps.

For example this is a trip we did from Sunny Corner to Capertee although the photos do not show how steep the trail really was http://www.robcaz.net/sunny_corner_to_capertee.htm
happy camping
