WHEN. From
Monday 29th September to Friday 3rd of October 2008.
SHOWGROUND
gates will open at midday on Saturday 27th September &
close at 10.00am Sunday 5rd October.
GETTING THERE. Peak Hill is located on the NSW Central Western
Slopes & Plains along the Newell Highway between Dubbo & Parkes.
Peak Hill is 442km from Sydney, 947km from
Brisbane, 744km from Melbourne & 1143km from Adelaide.
The Peak Hill Showground

is 1.5 kilometres west of
town. Turn off the highway at the Post Office into Mingelo Street
32º 43’ 24.8 : 148º 11’ 26.4 & across the rail line.
THE ROAD.
The road is bitumen & suitable for all vehicles.
CAMPING. We
will be camping in the large grassed area surrounding the Peak Hill Showground
studded with trees. This is a bush camp with minimum facilities.
There is both power & unpowered sites in
close proximity to each other.
CONTACT.
When driving into camp please give Ron, Kevin or Rob a call
on the groups official channel UHF18 so they can meet & direct you to a suitable
campsite.
MAKING ARRANGEMENTS. Please add you name to

Powered Sites. $15 per site
per night
Unpowered Sites. $12 per site per
night
PAYMENT.
Camping fees will be made in cash only to the groups co-owners on arrival
& before setting up camp.
FIREWOOD.
Firewood will be provided. Don't forget your block splitter to split
blocks.
WATER. Town
drinking water is available from taps on site.
SHOWER. Hot showers are available at the
showground, however it would be an advantage to bring your own portable bush
shower along. Hot showers are also available from the Peak Hill Caravan Park &
the Double D Caravan Park at a cost of $3.00.
TOILETS.
Flushing septic toilets are available at the showground, however it would be an
advantage to bring your own portable chemical toilet along.
PORTA POTTIE DUMP POINT.
Arrangements have be made with the Peak Hill
Caravan Park for use of their toilet dump point as not to over load the septic
toilets at the showground.
GLASS. As it is a showground we ask you to
please keep the use of glass to an absolute minimum and dispose of
any containers thoughtfully in the recycle bins.
DOGS are welcome, so long as they are contained and
not running around loose and droppings are collected.
SERVICES. There are no services at the showground
itself. A short walk or dive into Peak Hill will provide you with all services required.
BANKING.
Commonwealth Bank at the Post Office and Westpac down the road at
the
"Westfarmers" neither with ATM's, but a ATM at the RSL Club. A lot
of the little shops including the butcher, are cash only?
TV reception
is good with vertical analogue UHF. Local

PHONE. NextG only
& Vodafone GSM, no Telstra GSM.
FUEL. There
is Unleaded & diesel, however Autogas is not available in Peak Hill.
LAUNDRY.
Washing machine & dryer facilities are available
from the Peak Hill Caravan Park & Double D Caravan Park at $3.00 a load.
