Members & their friends are invited to attend the groups next national meet at Nyngan

≈ GRAND OPENING SUNDAY 4TH OCTOBER 7:00PM ≈

 

 

WHEN. During the week from Monday 5th to Friday 9th of October 2009.

WHERE. Nyngan lies at the junction of the Mitchell and Barrier Highways, near the geographical centre of New South Wales, 166 kilometres west of Dubbo on the NSW Central Plains.

DISTANCE. Nyngan is 580km from Sydney, 950km from Brisbane, 930km from Melbourne & 1100km from Adelaide. 

CAMPING. The group will have the exclusive use of the large grassed area along the banks of the Bogan River in the Riverside Caravan Park Nyngan. The Groups co-owners have negotiated a special fee rate with the caravan park owners (as set out below) from 12:00pm Friday 2nd October to Saturday 10th October. Note: Normal camping fees apply outside these times. If you arrive early or stay later you will share the area with any other patrons who happen to be there.

The entrance to the Nyngan Riverside Caravan Park 31°33'28.93"S 147°10'36.05"E is on Barrier Highway, 500 metres from the junction with the Mitchell Highway. If coming from Dubbo travel through town, over the bridge & turn left onto the Barrier Highway.

MAKING ARRANGEMENTS. Please add your name to the poll No booking is required. Campsites are on a first in basis only. Powered sites may be restricted to those with a medical need if the demand exceeds the number of outlets.

COST.
Powered Sites.  24 only powered sites at $22 per day for two adults/ single $17 ...... (stay 7 nights & get one free)
Unpowered Sites. $15 per day for two adults/single $8 ...... (stay 7 nights & get one free) 
Kids. All children under 15 are free, those over 15 are $5 each per night no matter if your site is powered or unpowered.
Extra adults $5 per night.

The members discount rate does not apply to the drive through powered caravan sites with ensuites situated in another area of the caravan park, the onsite caravans or cabins. You will need to book with the caravan park if you require any of these.

PAYMENT. Camping fees are payable to the Riverside Caravan Park office on arrival. They do have EFTPOS.

CONTACT ON ARRIVAL. On arrival into the campsite area please give Ron, Kevin or Rob a call on the groups official channel UHF18 so they can welcome you & direct you to a suitable campsite.

ADMIN FEE. There will be an admin fee payable to the Groups co-owners of between $5 - $10 to cover the cost of the 'showbag' which contains a commemorative meet sticker, printing of the name tags, name tag holders etc.

FIREWOOD will be provided by the caravan park owners free of charge. A firewood working bee will be arranged each afternoon to cut & distribute the wood. Please bring your chainsaw, chainsaw safety gear & block splitter along.

WATER. Town drinking water is available from taps on site.

SHOWER. Hot showers are available.

TOILETS. Flushing toilets are available.

LAUNDRY. Washing machine & dryer facilities are available at the caravan park.

SERVICES. All services are available in Nyngan township.

BANKING. NAB, Westpac and Commonwealth banking available.

PHONE. NextG & Telstra services. There is no Vodafone.

FUEL. Autogas is available at Nyngan service stations.

DOGS are welcome, so long as they are contained and not running around loose and droppings are collected. Dogs are allowed to run freely in the adjoining Rotary Park. Sign at the entrance to the park says Remember "If your dog poops it, you scoop it".

BOAT RAMP. There is a boat ramp at the caravan park.

Nyngan Museum in old railway station at Railway Square.   
Self-guided heritage trail to see many fine 19th-century Nyngan buildings.
Bird-watching at the Macquarie Marshes 64 km north. 
Boating & canoeing in the Bogan River.
Mid-state Shearing Shed located on the Mitchell Highway.
