YOUR HOSTS for the weekend will be Mike and Leonie Fretwell.

SPECIAL GUESTS for the weekend will be Rob and Carol Sanderson, co-owners of the Australian CamperTrailers Group, who will be visiting South Australia at that time.

WHERE. Princess Royal Station, via Burra, South Australia.

WHEN. The weekend of Friday 18th to Sunday 20th May 2012.

CAMPING. We will be camping exclusively on the private property which is situated within the Burra Hills. This property is the largest and oldest single piece of freehold title in South Australia; Torrens Title, No. 1! The camping area, within the property and adjacent to the shearers quarters, is approximately 10kms South of Burra.

GETTING THERE. Burra is 165kms North North East of Adelaide on the Barrier Highway (A32) heading towards Broken Hill through the towns of Riverton and Saddleworth. You need to allow approximately 1.5 to 2.0 hours from Gepps Cross using the Northern Expressway, with its access off the Princes Highway and then, the amalgamated Gawler Bypass, heading north out of Adelaide. Full directions to the property will be provided with the ice breaker.

THE ROAD. Sealed to within 500 metres of the main property entrance. there is a good “all–weather” dirt road on the property with a few potholes and cattle grids.

MAKING ARRANGEMENTS. Just add your name to the poll. We have exclusive use of this private property’s camping area around the shearers’ quarters.

CAMPING FEES. $25 approximately per vehicle for the weekend depending on numbers.

POWER. There are NO powered sites available.

TOILETS. There are “rams” and “ewes” flushing toilets.

SHOWERS. There are four hot showers too!

CAMPFIRES. A campfire and camp ovens will be allowed subject to Fire Bans. Currently the fire season is due to finish on 30th April, 2012. However current thinking is that this period may be extended into May. If this is the case – gas cooking will only be permitted. However the adjacent shearers’ quarters have a fully set up electric powered kitchen and gas BBQ which may be made available at a modest cost, should we require it. The dining area has refectory table.

FIREWOOD. If required, will need to be collected off site and brought in by road.

PETS. This is a working cattle property. NO PETS will be allowed.

RUBBISH. Bins provided.

TELE-COMMUNICATIONS. Telstra 3G mobile service drops out as one leaves Burra. A satellite phone will be available for emergencies.

ACTIVITIES. No formal activities have been planned for the weekend.

However, should the mood take you, you can

• Visit Burra and visit the “Passport Trail”. The town is situated in a State Heritage Area with lots of buildings from the 1840s era. The film Breaker Morant was completely filmed here.

• Explore tracks on the property, and follow the Burra Creek downstream.

Better still! come sit & relax with a bunch of like minded people. Check the modifications others have done to their camper trailers to make camping life all that more enjoyable. You might meet as complete strangers on the Friday evening, but will part old friends, such is the camaraderie.

You do not need a camper trailer to attend. Members without a camper are more than welcome to attend & get a first hand unbiased opinion of a particular camper trailer from their owners. Come along & meet the faces behind the typing. Looking forward to seeing you there.

Please keep in mind that the group owners will not accept any responsibility for members & non-members actions during the weekend get together.

If you decide to attend, it is solely at your own responsibility, including any side trips or outings during the weekend meet.
