The main street has numerous terrific shops (especially for the ladies – the best dress shops for miles) with good coffee shops for the men to drink at or the numerous hotels. Saturday morning there are the Railway Markets at Tenterfield Railway Station.

IN THE CAR: Paddy's Flat Tank Traps – Tabulam. Turn off the Bruxner Highway 3km west of Tabulam, onto Paddy's Flat Road. Follow the road for 28km and the Tank Traps are on the right, just before Paddy's Flat Bridge.

Thunderbolt's Hideout -Mt Lindesey Road. Travel north on the New England Highway from the Visitor Information Centre for 1km and turn right onto the Mt Lindesay Road. Leave your vehicle at the "Thunderbolt's Hideout" sign and follow the track to the hideout, about 300m from the road. He used that large area
