on Ch 1 you will Transmit on Ch 31 to access the
Repeater and receive on Ch 1 . If set to Ch 1 with
Duplex off (i.e. Simplex), you will Transmit and Receive
on Ch 1. If you get no reply to a call when Duplex is
On, try with Duplex Off (or vice versa). |

Assigned by law for use only
in emergencies. You will hear people transmitting on Ch
5 directly to you, or from people transmitting via a Ch
5 Repeater (if they're set to Ch 5 Duplex and both of
you are in range of the Repeater). If you get no reply
to a call when Duplex is On, try with Duplex Off (or
vice versa). |

in emergencies to transmit to Ch 5 Repeaters. If you are
on Ch 35, your signal will be picked and retransmitted
by any Ch 5 repeater that's in range. Everyone listening
on Ch 5 will hear you, but you won't hear people using
Repeater 5, if they're out of direct signal range from
you. |
