Michael Mitchell needs your help

walk for cancer drivers wanted

drivers stage itinerary details

Hi all,

I have received an e-mail from Michael Mitchell who will be leaving Cape York on May 5th 2008 and bushwalking to Wilsons Promontory over 13 months and 6,000km, raising $1M for The Cancer Council in the process. Michael is also a keen camper & camper trailer owner.

He has managed to get sponsorship from a number of major companies, however one aspect of the event currently causing concern to the team is more drivers are needed to act as support crew.

Michael needs driving teams to drive his 1999 Jackaroo Turbo Diesel, towing a new fully equipped Tru Blu Off Road Camper Trailer. The car and camper trailer are all provided for the use of the support crew.

All that's required is for the support vehicle to meet with the walking party at designated points along the way. Fuel and basic supplies are all provided.

Michael is walking to a six days on, one day off schedule with Sundays the usual rest day. On these days there will be a bit of action going on with some walkers changing over, provisions from the trailer sorted as well as some media commitments etc. The job would be perfect for retired or semi retired couples or anyone with time on their hands with a desire to get involved in a very special event.

You may be wondering what the catch is? The answer is, there is none! Michael has tried very hard to find drivers over the past few months. It seems that despite how good the job is, it's not that easy finding people for whom the walk fits into their lives.
