The Inaugural "May-Be Christmas" CamperTrailers
Members meet was held on the weekend of 25th and 26th of May. This was well
attended with 20 trailers/hybrids/caravans including 4 journeying from NSW
and one Victorian, Co-owners Rob and Carol amongst the southerners. We
welcomed first time meet attendees - Peta and Tony (Brisbane), Emma and
	Cameron (Melbourne).
Early arrivals saw Thursday as maintenance day
with our hybrid jacked up, tyre off to access and repair feed line to Diesel
heater. Much indebted to Rick for carrying out this job. The second repair -
not so planned - was Rob's Jeep which decided the axle uni joint had served
enough time. After aa quick trip to Brisnane for a replacement, he and Lyndsay spent the better part of the
afternoon under the chassis - a couple of borrowed tools, some handy
	firewood supports, plus Rob
	& Lindsay's expertise, all done.

Friday night was a new
concept for us - "Blokes Bring It", ladies sat by the fire and relaxed
whilst the men prepared their signature dishes. Whilst a few opted to serve
their partner at their site (hamburgers seemed popular) the majority had a
community meal in the shelter. Curries, chillies, stews, several veggie
dishes - a fine array, and a concept we will definitely repeat.

Saturday Lunch was the
focus of the weekend "May Be" Christmas came about because a number of the
SE Qld members were unavailable in July because of Big Red Bash. June was
also out - and round the fire the concept of "May Be" was born. Mike and I
gave little direction on this except all are welcome to share starters,
mains or dessert for a Christmas themed lunch.

What a success! So much wonderful food, some wonderful Aussi stuff - Prawns,
nibbles, even roasted chestnuts and mulled wine. Mains of potatoes, the
bakes, turkey and cranberries, chicken, Ham on the bone, beautiful greens
and oh those desserts. The Christmas clothing, lights and decorations
abounded. Many others wore their trademut shirts which added to the colour.

We presented several
	awards -
Ho Ho Ho -
Ian and Diane, had an amazing stash of xmas everything while living in
caravan till new home is ready.
Delightful - Mitch and Karen , our wee elf
The love of Christmas - Karyn and Peter. They live
	xmas.
The official
"Spirit of May-Be '' Perpetual Award went to Collette and Ian, thank you for
all our wonderful secret santa gifts.

Boxing Day Sunday Lunch
	and once again a
shared meal as the leftover glazed ham was carved up and turned into a small
mountain of sandwiches with fresh bread from a bakery run.

Atkinsons Dam scout camp
was as good as we've seen it. Dam plenty of water, some great photos of
birds, thanking especially Emma, Greg and Rob. Was nice to have a cooler
weather camp, the days were beautiful, sunny and still, the nights cool
enough to satisfy our biggest pyrotechnics. Lovely relaxing days. The
stayers had left by the Friday.

A great meet, humbled by
the positive feedback and looking forward to hosting the Second " May-be"
same time, same place next year.
