canungra weekend
Wednesday
22nd to Wednesday 29th January 2025

The camp started on Wednesday the 22nd
January with the temperature about 36 degrees and 90 per cent humidity.
After setting up camp Rick and I decided to cut the overgrown path to the
creek which was flowing quickly. The path was just enough to get us to the
water for relief from the heat. We spent most of the afternoon there. The
next day was a lot cooler so Rick made the path wider. The rest of the team
whippersnipped around the grounds and den. Some also cut low lying branches.
The scout den has been very appreciative of the maintenance to the grounds
the Australian CamperTrailers Group members have done over the years we have
been camping there. While not compulsory members bring along mowers &
whippersnipper to clean up around the buildings.
More people arrived and a lot of catching up was done. Lots of swimming in
the creek kept everyone busy. Usual fire at night with tall tales from past
trips and events. There was even a surprise visit from Robyn and Lindsay
Jenkinson with their camper. Somebody wasn't going to miss out on a camp :)
In all a great week, just a bit hot. Thanks to everyone who gave a hand with
the clean-up, especially Rick and for your company. A great camp with great
friends.
