Exodus Campers at Cardiff in Newcastle NSW have just released the Exodus Stockrington, a base model to join the Exodus ‘Barrington’ which is currently in production.

During the past 12 months at camping shows, owner/builder Ian Simpson has had many enquiries for a base model. These enquiries are coming from people who are already well set up with camping equipment and accessories. He has now released the Exodus Stockrington to cater for their needs. I caught up with Ian recently who showed me what the new model had to offer.

The outside still looks the same, however gone is the front fibreglass box which housed the slide out kitchen. A jerry can holder now sits in each front corner behind the stone deflector blind. A gas bottle sits on each rear corner behind the guard. There is no underslung watertank.

Looking inside, there is a full width double bed which is permanently made up ready to go. Below the bed is a huge storage space. As you step through the rear opening security door with flyscreening, to the left is clothes hanging space, while on the right is a bench which provides comfortable seating or could be used to house an ice box or fridge. There are screened wind out windows on each side.

The front hinged fibreglass roof is easily set up by undoing two clips. There is standing height for dressing & plenty of ventilation with the full rear area of the canvas surrounds unzipping to a mesh screen.

The campers shell sits on a hot dipped galvanised box trailer with eye to eye leaf suspension & 14" light truck wheels. We wandered down a few bush tracks to find a decent spot to take some photos & the Stockrington was very happy trailing along behind with plenty of ground clearance.

There is a range of options to build it up the way you like, including an awning with PVC flooring, off road package of upgraded suspension, electric brakes, Treg coupling & 31x10.5R15 wheels & Landcruiser hubs. Then there is Vehicle Components Cruisemaster independent suspension, external fold down table, 57 litre inbuilt Engel 2way fridge, lighting package, 100 ah deep cycle battery & a 64 watt solar cell.

As yet there are no details of the new Stockrington on the Exodus campers website, however the Stockrington is available now for $21,990 (including on road costs and 12 months rego).

For more information please feel free to contact Ian at Exodus Campers & let him know you are a member of the group.

UPDATE

Ian Simpson at Exodus Campers is always thinking & has redesigned the permanent bed design, making it a foldup which now creates room for a seat. Great to get in out of the cold & rain, play cards or your favourite game.
