Does anyone else have an issue with their ArkPak 620? We have had an issue with the brightness of the screen since new and it wasn't until we saw a YouTube video that we realised that ours was faulty. The company are saying it is out of warranty and want $50 plus postage to replace.
More worrying is that we keep getting an OpenCircuit alarm going. We are using a 120 aH AGM battery which we have had tested and the battery is testing fine. The ARkPak is permanently located in a closed and sealed storage box in our camper. Does it need more air circulation, if so this would involve a total rethink as to how and where it could go?

All batteries, including AGM & Gel's should not be placed in a sealed enclosure & should be ventilated to allow any explosive gas build up to escape http://caravanandmotorhomebooks.com/bat ... -is-vital/ The ArcPak itself has vents.

Sounds as if you have a problem with the LCD screen.

If you have a look at the ArkPac manual it says under the 'alarm messages on LCD screen' 3. - Open Circuit. Battery is not connected or is faulty (only shows when mains power is connected) http://www.arkcorp.com.au/images/arkpak ... ay2014.pdf

There may be something wrong with the battery, it is either dead flat or it has dropped a cell. How old is the battery??? I would put a multimeter on the battery terminals & see what voltage it is.
