Re: Waterproofing Canvas ?
I would think there is no benefit unless the original waterproofing is loosing its effectiveness. Then the choice of treatment needs to follow the manufactures guidelines, these are usually on a tag inside the tent.

You really only need to waterproof the canvas if the canvas is letting water through. Seams can be sealed with a seam sealing stick available from camping shops.
If you need to reseal the canvas check to see if there is a tag sewn onto it with the canvas manufacturers name & care instructions. If not, give the camper trailer manufacturer a ring & ask which canvas waterproofer they recommend.
There are two types of resealer. A silicone based type like Aqua Proof which is water washup. If used on the wrong canvas type it can leave a milky residue, particularly noticeable on dark coloured canvas.
The another type of resealer is wax based like Dry Seal by Joesph Lyddy & washup in mineral turpentine.
The easiest way to apply waterproofing is with a small roller. Only apply a small amount into the tray at a time & always mix the contents of the container before tipping into the tray.
Always try any of the above on a small area of canvas which cannot be normally seen.
