Hey guys,
I've read a fair amount of threads here. So I'm slowly catching on to what CTing is all about...
Apart from looking at the stars and staring into the camp fire, chat amongst fellow campers etc. What do you do for entertainment.
In the way of electronics. I am not and hopefully never will be interested in purchasing a TV etc so that is not even in my frame of thinking.
What I am thinking and this is where the question is coming. Is what do you guys do in the way of listening to music.
Do you run your stereo system in your toe vehicle or do you utilise the CT's 12v system and install car radio systems in them?
Quick question regarding 12v and entertainment

Hi Garry,
Once you have finished readingthrough all the posts in the forum you can start with the www.campertrailers.org website were all the useful info is stored so it is easy to find.
We mostly bush camp. If we are travelling by ourselves we tend to go to bed early & up at dawn. If travelling with others we chat around the campfire.
On the last three week trip we did alone for most of the time, I threw in three nature show CD's & a movie to watch on the laptop, something we have never done before. We only watched two of the CD's.
We only listen to music while driving & would rather hear the birds, the creek & other bush sounds when camped.

Agree robcaz. We take one of those cheapo $20 waterproof bluetooth speakers you can get off the interweb for tunes. Keep the volume down tho. Don't want to upset the neighbours.

Yeah fair point.
Looking forward to getting my camper, not that I've actually put an order on one.
It's actually starting to interfere with my sleep patterns and day to day activities, when ever I find myself with nothing to do I often find myself thinking about which one will suit us best.
I know it comes down to personal taste, budget and best fit for tow vehicle and family life.

We chat with the feet in front of the fire or read a book! Sometimes we put the AM radio on to get the news, weather updates or bushfire warnings. A quality portable unit with a loop antenna allows reception way beyond the advertised coverage areas.
Playing music with strangers in earshot is anti-social in my view.

Re: Quick question regarding 12v and entertainment
We're pretty well set up with a twin battery and solar setup to run a 110 litre Waeco. We carry a generator for the rainy periods. We run a 12 volt radio with an iPhone dock for charging the iPhones or playing music from the iPhone. We have a 12 volt TV/DVD player, and when in proximity to a TV station, we can put an aerial up to watch the news etc. Most of the time we don't bother with the TV. Every now and then we might run a movie or music DVD, and sometimes I run some 12 volt computer speakers to give the radio or TV sound a bit of boost. 12 volt accessories are wired through Merit plugs, and because most of our camping is in a beach (salt) environment, I carry some contact cleaner with me. Seems to work. Just back from another fortnight at Straddie.
