Swagman Camper Trailer - thoughts?

Post by Rustynails » Wed Mar 16, 2016 10:00 pm

Hi All,

I am new here and am about to purchase a camper trailer!! (about time!)

I am looking at purchasing a 2008 Swagman Off road Camper trailer, I can't find much information on the internet, does anybody know the history of the business and any information about these camper trailers in terms of quality etc?

Any thoughts would be much appreciated!!

Here is the link to the camper trailer - they're asking $7000

Thanks!!!

Hi Rustynails,

Welcome to the forum. Swagman Off Road Camper Trailers were an all Australian camper trailer manufacturer from Maddington WA. They started up in around 2003 with three models. The Billabong a side fold soft floor camper based on a 7ft x 4ft off road box trailer, a 2-Berth Camper with a hard top which opened up to the side to provide a bed base & internal living similar to the Ultimate Camper & a 5-Berth Camper with a two section hardtop that folded out front & rear to provide the bed bases each end & internal living. As far as I know they shut their doors in 2012.

The model you are looking at is the Swagman. They look as if the trailers are well built.
happy camping

Hi Rob,

Thanks for this information - very useful!.

I will keep looking around to compare other's - there's a very wide ranage available, but i think this one is to dear for what it is compared to other fully Australian built campers like Johhno's, Trackabout etc.

Thanks Again,

Russell
