Hi all,

There is a copy of the genuine Towsafe Ball Weight Scale on the market by another 'Towsafe' made in Taiwan. It has been made to look like the genuine Towsafe product with the same colour, construction & dimensions. The box is the same & 95% of the instruction text has been plagiarised from the genuine Towsafe box.

Manufacturers of the genuine Towsafe Ball Weight Scale purchased a copy & pulled it apart. They found the large tube was full of rust, the plastic separator between the top tube & bottom tube was easy to pull away, the top tube has unstable with excessive side movement & the round base plate was not true flat. http://www.campertrailers.org/towsafe_copy1.jpg

Towsafe thought in the interest of the general public they should test the copy for accuracy & had both the genuine Towsafe Ball Weight Scales & the copy tested by a NATA approved testing lab.

Hi Rob,
I just saw the add in the autobarn catalogue and I thought with the Hayman Reese name on it, it may be ok.
No, I haven't bought one (shops closed) and won't, but it just goes to show that you need to be careful.
I have come across similar things with wood work tools and equipment.
