Mdc gal extreme tent query
Hi.
I'm new to the camper trailer scene. Have recently bought a 2013 mdc gal extreme. Have only had a quick set up in the front yard so far. Not sure if there is a trick to setting the tent up, but it seems that the bed base height is too high. The floor of the tent doesn't seem to reach all the way to the ground closest to the trailer, and this seems to throw the tent shape a bit out of whack. I eventually let the tires down to reduce the height and it fixed the problem, but I don't fancy doing that every time I have to set up. I did read somewhere that mdc stuffed up with independent suspension heights, but I have conventional suspension.
I'd be interested if anyone else has come across this before and any tips would be appreciated.
Cheers

Re: Mdc gal extreme tent query
Hi bigmin,
I would assume the wrong tent has been fitted to the trailer, ie an on road tent model has been fitted to an off road box trailer with higher trailer sides, higher suspension or larger wheels. I would be taking this up with the manufacturer.

Yeah I think that may be the problem. Its still under warranty, but I don't know how it goes seeing as I bought it second hand. I bet MDC don't want to know about it.

If it has a zip in vinyl floor you may be able to get a new floor made up with higher sides

Nah, sewn in floor mate. Might have to just work around the problem. Should have taken more notice before I bought it.

Re: Mdc gal extreme tent query
Just check if the axle is under the spring. Previous owner may have changed axle from over spring to under spring to gain extra clearance for the trailer but then messed up the tent set up.

Thanks Craig. Axle is over the spring.
