 Hello Campers,

Well, Lostock Dam weekend get together on the 24th and 25th of August 2019 has come and gone.

With a turnout of 21 Campers, we did miss some of our usual campers due to their travels and, others with unforeseen problems preventing them from attending. Really unfortunate as the weather was terrific and a great time was had by all.

People began arriving on Thursday, some staying until Monday [Margie and I left on Sunday due to Family commitments].

First time attendees were welcomed to the meet. They being Ray and Lindy and the Baileys, by all indications enjoyed the meeting and will attend again. It is really awesome when we see fresh faces, means the camping fraternity is alive and well.

The centre piece was Happy Hour on Saturday. Once again Margie’s “One Hit Wonder” quiz went down a treat, it was won by Geoff and Pauline Robinson with 13 out of 20. Mark from the Caravan Park supplied us once again with a tee shirt and stubby holders (and wood) to go with our bottle of wine and chocolates, Lindsay and Elaine from the A Van club who were attending as guests, donated some wooden spoons. There were plenty of prizes for runners up {Sharon Tidy won a wooden spoon and indicated she may give Colin a spanking that night}. After much laughter and a great spread of afternoon tea everyone adjourned back to their fires.

As I said previously the weather was fantastic, and hope everyone enjoyed the weekend. Margie and I thank everybody for their ongoing support we hope to be back for next year which could be close to ten years.

Mark has indicated he will be stepping back and introduced us to Steve and his wife who will take over as managers but little will change for us.

Before signing off I almost forgot to mention that Keith & Jenny McCarron were trying out their new camper, staying true to the Kimbley brand good luck with the Karavan. Also “Scruffy and Sharon introduced their new blue towing machine. (Must say that would look pretty good behind a blue Hilux), just saying.

Thanks once again everybody, these weekends would not be successful without all our fun participants. See you in Bentelbow.
