Members & their friends are invited to attend the groups get together at Nelson, Victoria

WHERE. At Kywong Caravan Park, located 1km north of the township of Nelson http://www.kywongcp.com/

WHEN. On the weekend of Saturday 29th to Sunday 30th of September 2007.

CAMPING. We will be camping in the unpowered area surrounded by 25 acres of natural bush where you will wake to kangaroos grazing and abundant birdlife. It is only a 5 minute walk to the Glenelg River and the national park provides easy access to bushwalking, fishing, canoeing or just relaxing.

GETTING THERE. Nelson is approximately half way between Adelaide and Melbourne.

From Adelaide take the road from Mt Gambier to Nelson & take the first turn left over the bridge in Nelson.

From Melbourne you can go via the Princess Highway or via Ballarat/Hamilton/Dartmoor & take the turn right just before the bridge in Nelson.

The caravan park is well signposted on the main road and is about 1km down the road after you turn.

THE ROAD. The road is suitable for all vehicles & sealed all of the way.

MAKING ARRANGEMENTS. Only need to book with the caravan park owners if a powered site is preferred. The powered sites are away from the unpowered section. Phone 08 87384174

COST. $15 per site per night & $4.50 per child (over the age of 5) per night.

UNPOWER. No need to book an unpowered site.

POWER. Please contact the caravan park and book your powered site individually.

WATER. Drinking water is available.

CAMPFIRES are allowed. One central fire only allowed.

FIREWOOD a small amount may be available. If possible bring our own or it can be found nearby.

TOILETS. Flushing toilets available.

SHOWERS. Hot showers are also available.

DOGS. No dogs aloud.

RUBBISH. Bins supplied.

There is an abundance of flora and fauna, which for the bird watching & wildlife enthusiast makes for a rewarding stay.

Glenelg National Park The caravan park is a five minute drive to the Glenelg river and National Park where you can fish, canoe, bushwalk or relax. http://www.parkweb.vic.gov.au/1park_display.cfm?park=135

Fishing For all who haven't had the tinny out for awhile the Glenelg River is one not affected by the drought. Fishing for Mullet, Salmon, Bream, Mulloway is very popular on the Glenlg River.

Diving/Snorkelling/Walks Piccaninnie Ponds is great for diving and snorkelling (permit required) Walks in the area also available. http://www.parks.sa.gov.au/piccaninnie_ponds/index.htm

You do not need a camper trailer to attend. Members without a camper are more than welcome to come along & get a first hand unbiased opinion of a particular camper trailer from their owners.

Please keep in mind that the group owners will not accept any responsibility for members & non-members actions during the weekend get together.

If you decide to attend, it is solely at your own responsibility, including any side trips or outings during the weekend meet.
