Rob & Carol hosted their third Australian
CamperTrailers Group members get together at Old Bara over Easter with
seventeen camper trailers attending. Old Bara is a 1100 acre property running 100% grass feed
beef near Mudgee NSW which is owned by Richard & Sally Nagel.

We were treated with perfect autumn weather of windless warm sunny days
& cool nights making for a pleasant time around the evening campfires. A
cool change the week before saw the final end to the summer heat. Dawn had
temperatures drop to single figures with a heavy dew in the ample pasture
grass. Members arrived from far a field as Northern NSW, the NSW South Coast
as well as the Sydney region.
It is nice to meet members face to
face who are attending their first weekend with the group & also pleasing to
see how easy they slipped into conversation with everyone around the campfire.
There were no organised outings over the get together.
While some explored the property taking in the view from the lookout towards
Rylstone & beyond to Glen Davis, others took the opportunity to explore the
surrounding district or a visit to the Mudgee Markets on the Saturday
morning.
We chose to take the walk through Fern Tree Gully on the
Bylong Valley Way north of Rylstone, a 4wd trail to a lookout & returned to
the property via gravel country lanes for a pleasant afternoon wander.
A final few departed on the Tuesday after Easter.
