CAMPING. We will be camping on 'The Field', a well grassed open paddock along the banks of the Karuah River with a communal fire in the center of the area. see photo above

GETTING THERE. The easiest way to get to Riverwood Downs is to drive approx. 30 km north from Raymond Terrace along the Pacific Highway & turn left onto the Bucketts Way towards Gloucester. Travel along the Bucketts Way to Stroud which is approx. 40 km from Pacific Highway. At around 17 kms north of Stroud you will see a sign 'Riverwood Downs' which comes up quickly. Turn left into Monkerai Road & follow the signs for 8km into Riverwood Downs.

Riverwood Downs can also be reached via Dungog, however this is along narrow dirt roads. Please use caution along this road as there are blind corners. The website has very good directions from which ever way you decide to come.

THE ROAD. The road is gravel from the Bucketts Way, a little corrugated, but suitable for all vehicles including 2wds.

THINGS TO DO.

Suggestions for weekend.

There are no special events planned, we hope to just let the weekend unfold. If you would like to sit around & chat with old acquaintances you have met at previous group weekends or  meet new friends that's fine. Always of interest is seeing what others have done to modify their camper trailers or new camping equipment they have bought.

There is plenty of room to go for a long bushwalk or perhaps a mountain bike ride.

Riverwood Downs has horse riding at 8am each morning.

The water in the Karuah River should be a little chilly by then for swimming, but either bring you own canoe or kayak along or there are Canadian canoes you can hire there.

Any other ideas would be welcome.

You do not need a camper trailer to attend. Members without a camper are more than welcome to come along & get a first hand unbiased opinion of a particular camper trailer from their owners. Come along & meet the faces behind the typing.

You are also very welcome to drop in for the day.

Please keep in mind that the group owners will not accept any responsibility for members & non-members actions during the weekend get together.

If you decide to attend, it is solely at your own responsibility, including any side trips or outings during the weekend meet.
