northern

tenterfield weekend
Saturday 3rd to Sunday 4th November 2018

What great November weather in
Tenterfield for our first met there. We had 13 camper groups who ventured to
Northern NSW. Everyone was looking for shady areas to sit and chat to be
protected from the burning sun. It was first timers for Evan and Graham who
joined in with the group.
Saturday was spent at the markets and
a wander up the main street and having the history of the Tenterfield
Saddler told to us as well as seeing Peter Allen's Size 14 shoes. Sunday was
spent on a driving tour around some of the sites of Tenterfield, starting
with the Cork Tree in Wood Street, then onto the F111 Crash Site, then out
towards the east to Thunderbolt's Hideout where the more adventurous
wondered around the rocks and onto the Tank Traps which had been put there
during the war years. It was then up to Mount Mckenzie Lookout gaining a
great view over Tenterfield and towards the Queensland Border at
Wallangarra.
We are looking forward to having another met, although not in November 2019
as we will be not far away for the National Meet at Bonalbo. Hopefully we
will be able to turn on some wonderful warm weather, next time in
Tenterfield.
It is great to catch up with the group and enjoy each others company and
share our travels and experiences.
