Yatala weekend
Saturday 2nd to Sunday 3rd December, 2017
Another good, quite, camp, beside the Albert River
which was a first for everybody attending. 27 acres gave us plenty of room
with a nice flat, green, grassy paddock and a bonus of a shelter for 'meet &
greet'.
The pontoon on the river was only used
by Angela to fish!! & Gregory to launch his crab pots..NO fish or crabs!!
Some went for a drive to explore the
region. Les came back with a pie from Yatala Pies, an apple & blue berries I
think, with heaps of cream.
The weather was very kind to us, hot
with spasmodic cloud cover giving some respite from the sun. The only rain
worth a mention, was in the early hours of Sunday morning.
Everyone packed up & left homeward
bound on Sunday morning, except Paul who stayed on as usual for Sunday
night.
Don & Chris camped with the group for the first time & shared their photo
books at the Satrurday afternoon meet & greet, which was well received.
If you look very closely at one of the photos, you will see the 'resident'
green, yellow belly, tree snake 'Bruce'.
Alex & Jill camped on the lower ground
close tho the river, as did Les & Ray, while the rest of us kept to the high
ground. The Albert River has a history of flooding!!!!
Angela tried out her new 'Quick Pit'
fire pit, come BBQ base, which worked out fine. Amazingly. There was no
evidence on the grass of any fire. A good buy for $200
Until the next camp, travel & camp
safely.
