community day

Wednesday has been community day for a number of years. The day started with a breakfast cooked by the Bonalbo Community Charities Fund committee members. Proceeds were another fundraiser for this fund.

After breakfast there were cattle dog exhibitions as well as campdraft in the main ring.

Mid morning saw everyone at the Bonalbo community hall where the locals had set up their usual Saturday morning street stalls especially for us.

After lunch Phoebe Shumack hosted a kids treasure hunt while some of the experienced golfers accompanied local players on the 9 hole golf course.

 

Mid afternoon George Mavros hosted the annual Hardy's Vs Softy's bolle competition with the perpetual Nyngan Cup up for grabs. In a hotty contested final the soft floor camper trailers defeated the hard floors.

Phoebe Shumack hosted a kids Finska competition. Patrick Wakeling was declared the winner.

Tom Cooper provided a few sheep for David Whitney to show us what was involved shearing.

Barefoot bowls was held on Thursday afternoon at Bonalbo Bowling Club. Afterwards most stayed on for an evening meal, then Bingo. Photos courtesy Kevin Phillips.

As an alternative to the bowling club, some members had an evening meal at the Dog ‘n’ Bull Hotel.
