the movement of the body & how it is carried upright during tai chi. After different warm up
exercises from Tuesday's session the class went through shibashi 2, a further

carlisle
rogers
It was great to see
Carlisle Rogers from Camper Trailer Australia magazine once again attend the
national meet, this time with Marla the Track Trailer Mirage he is rebuilding as
seen in the magazine. Carlisle talked of what goes on behind the scenes in
preparing an issue of the magazine ready for press, how he goes about testing
the campers, (someone has to do it) & what is required for members who wish to
write a travel article.
Members were asked
what they thought of the magazine & what they would like to see included in the
now bi-monthly magazine. All voted more camper trailers travel articles would be
of interest in helping them plan trips.
Carlisle had a number
of the latest issues on hand as well as past Camper Trailer Australia magazines
& subscriptions to give away. The lucky members to win subscriptions were
Gerry Broadhead, Graham Levet, Kitty Kool, Sue Christie-Cox, Therese Elsey &
Carol Sanderson.
wheel
bearing maintenance
Rob Sanderson held
his camper trailer wheel bearing workshop for the third year. Maintaining your
own camper wheel bearings is something anybody can do & Rob showed just how easy
it was. He disassembled the hub off his own camper trailer showing the parts &
then told of what to look for in checking the bearing races for heat
discoloration, pitting, scoring & any unevenness. While he had everything apart
he showed how to check the axle for cracks where the machining of the stub begins.
He then showed the
technique to push grease into the races & reassembled the hub & the process of
tightening the nut. Two old hubs where on hand & he removed a cone from the hub
with what he had on hand, a screwdriver & then drove it back home without
damaging the cone.
While on the subject
of wheels he showed what a good tyre repair kit should consist of including bead
breaker & 12volt pump.
pamper
session for women
While Rob was getting
his hands dirty his wife Carol held a pamper session for women. Carol is a
trained Mary Kay consultant & had products on hand. 25 ladies and young girls
enjoyed a foot soak then an exfoliating scrub on their feet. Followed by mint
bliss lotion which has a cooling effect. Then all the fun and exciting things
happened.. we tried lotions on our legs, arms and hands oooh our dry skin from
the wind and fires felt much better.
Then came a lip mask
and lip balm and that was divine, lots of dry lips that gobbled up the moisture.
Courtney Beckwith pulled out the winning number for the lucky door prize which
Fransica Miller won. A very cute mini brush set which was in a local little
material bag from the craft shop.
cobb
workshop
Jill Skinner showed
how the popular Cobb Cooker can be used in
camp as an alternative for cooking a range of food traditionally cooked in the
camp oven. With the use of heat beads as a heat source the Cobb can be used as
an oven, a barbecue, a smoker or a stove.
Jill was cooking a
roast for the nights dinner & went through the steps of what was needed lighting
the heat beads & assembling the Cobb & finally placing the roast on the dish &
placing the lid on top.
kids cooking
comp
There were two
contestants in this years kids camp oven cooking competition. Billy Lacey won
the main course section with a lazana cooked in the camp oven while Jayden
Skinner won best dessert with a great batch of popcorn.
